Abstract
Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a complex and increasingly prevalent
condition characterized by a cluster of interrelated metabolic risk factors, including
abdominal obesity, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, and hypertension. This paper
explores the multifactorial etiology of MetS, examining the interplay between
genetic predisposition, lifestyle factors, and environmental influences. The review
delves into the mechanisms underlying insulin resistance, the role of chronic
inflammation, and the dysregulation of adipose tissue in the pathogenesis of MetS.
