INNOVATIONS IN THE ECONOMY AND PUBLIC SECTOR: INTRODUCTION TO THE PROBLEM

Abstract

The article examines innovations in the public sector, emphasizes the
ambiguity of the definition of innovation and the sphere of innovative development
itself. Special attention is paid to the typology of innovations in the public sector,
the sources of their origin and development, the success factors and the reasons for
the failures of the implemented innovations. The article substantiates the
multiplicity of directions for studying and analyzing innovations in the public
sector and can serve as a basis for further research
